Damn I'm Getting Fat
I like bad food too much.

My butt gets pegged to the couch, I blog, I surf, I veg.

I don't eat enough vegetables.

Fruit costs $88 a pound and you bring it home and its mealy or over- or under-ripe.

I can't walk in the neighborhood because the neighbors watch me like future prey.

I don't want to drive 10 miles to find a private place to walk.

I don't get enough sleep and my willpower is zilch.

I'm 49 years old. I don't want to pass away tomorrow.

Is there a website where I can buy some motivation, money back guaranteed?

1. I'm in a similar boat right now. I just need to find some kind of physical activity that I can
schedule myself in for, that I can enjoy. During the school year I try to fit ice skating in, but in the summer most of the rinks close. Don't know what I'm going to do for exercise now. :(

And of course, this year I was INSANELY busy all year so I barely got a chance to go skating at all.

2. Some People Seem To Be Able To Cope With Things Better
I always get overwhelmed by the discipline needed to keep up a good diet and exercise regimen in the midst of the non-stop stresses of life.

3. See, that's why I don't bother.
That's why I just find something that fits into my schedule that I enjoy doing. Something that also happens to be exercise. :)

4. Well, I can give you a few tips.
I am 70 years old and have dieted since I was a teenager to keep off weight. In my later years, I have discovered the secret to losing weight. First, eat a big breakfast, then a moderate lunch and a very light dinner. Then, get yourself a big dog to walk in the evening. Get one that is intimidating looking so the neighbors will think they are the prey. I walk a Rottweiler and a Chihuahua at night. No one knows that the Chihuahua is the killer dog and the Rottie is a wimp. Anyway, I found that walking the dogs really helps keep the weight off. I walk down a hill to a big field down the street and then back up the hill.

5. I work out at home all the time -- it's possible.

Do you have a cable package that includes "Fit TV" or "Exercise TV" or something like that? If so, they offer a range of workouts, including cardio, abs/core, upper bod, lower bod, kick boxing, etc. It's like having your own personal instructor in your house. Best of all, you can pause and rewind to make sure you're form is correct, catch your breath, get a drink of water, etc.

If you don't have this option, you can learn several key moves (squats, lunges, crunches, etc.) online, and all their variations (which are seemingly endless). Get some hand weights/barbells, too, for strength training, and a resistance band for all sorts of moves. I also have a medicine ball and a small trampoline (for cardio). That stuff doesn't take up much space and it's not that expensive.

Good luck! :hi:
