1. I've been working at it for the past four months.
Sitting on my ass and doing nothing. I just can't find a good part-time job anywhere. :(

2. Since May 23, 2000.
But, I've had the same employer since August 1, 1992. I've held 5 different positions. I'm ready for a new position, though.

4. Too long to not get promoted.
But the mindset here is: 'The worst prof with a PhD is better that the BEST one without one.'

Funny, the students have almost the opposite view. But so what?

7. I was laid-off
and unemployed for over a year before I found my current position. When I was looking for work, I sent out hundreds of resumes and job applications. I finally took temp work, and they hired me on full-time. I feel very lucky.

9. Four-and-a-half years, since September 1999.
That is far and away the longest I've ever held a job. That's because my parents are both dead now, which means I can no longer give my boss the finger and storm off the job, only to sponge off my parents until I find something else. No, I have to control my temper now. And boy, does it suck!

16. Almost 13 years...just 12 to go.
I retire at 48, which means I have just three more Presidents to endure and I'm off to Costa Rica!

17. 3+ years... thinking of switching law firms
A paralegal friend just got a job at Jenner & Block; one of the partners there was on the team that won Lawrence v. Texas, and they have casual dress, and they're a largely Democratic firm. I'm all for diversity, but GOD it's hard to work on the same floor w/ the lead attorneys for the BC04 $$ team. :puke:

I think I'll wait until after my current firm pays for me to become a notary . . . ;)
