A scroll on ESPN; link below. Stay tuned. I've changed this because I misread the scroll.

on edit: I hope he does get back in at some point, getting banned for life for gambling seems a tad severe in an era where guys who are obviously "enhanced" set records...

2. Interesting
I'm not sure how I feel about this one.

BTW, Will, when are you going to be in Seattle for the booksigning?

5. Hmmm...how I feel about his reinstatement depends on Pete.
Hmmm...I'm reserving judgement until this is official.

8. Rose is a scumbag
And I totally believe he bet not only on the game but on his own team while he was the manager. What he did then and what transpires now are different. He should pay for what he did THEN. He may have been "charlie hustle" and all that crap, but he's a disgrace, both professionally and personally.

On a personal note regarding Rose...a dear friend of mine in San Diego owns a sports store where he sells all things related to the various sports. He attends basteball card shows and sees all the players there to sign autographs, most of whom will charge for their signature. He pays to get them to sign balls and cards, etc that he then sells out of his sotre. And not only does Rose charge for his signature, he will not personalize anything, even for an ill child. He will only sign his name. And when pressed to do so, got extremely angry with my friend and told him to "get out of my face, I said no". My friend said he is the most arrogant ass he's ever met in the years he has been doing this. And his reputation off the field while he was still playing, left a lot to be desired. He was known to cheat on his first wife (who eventually divorced him) on the road, and was into a various number of drugs.

Seems to me anyone with his record in baseball and wanting his due in the hall of fame, would work a lot harder to present a better image and a somewhat more pleasant personality than what he does. He makes no apologies for anything.

I don't really care for baseball, but I simply can't stand Rose and I hope baseball does not reinstate him.
