Plus there is Winmx, , EDonkey, Limewire, Overnet, Bittorrent, many many others.

Limewire and WinMX are good to find hard-to-find files. I'd provide links but I'd just be googling em up anyway, you know how to do that :)

through Kazaa Lite since they raided the offices. Not quite sure why, but I am using www.gnucleus.com now. Seems pretty decent so far.

I just closed Kazaa Lite up 10 seconds ago. I haven't experienced any issues at all since that raid. Maybe geographical location makes a difference there.

The guntella protocol was develoepd by some AOL programmers. They posted the code a couple of years ago, AOL pulled it maybe a day later, but in the meantime its has spread.

Does not generally have the spyware problems of Kazaa. Available in different version. Limewire and Bearshare are two versions for Windows (I think Morpheus is another). There are of course Linux and BSD versions as well.

I'm about to go legal with eMusic, though.

I really miss AudioGalaxy. It was the best. The free networks since then lack AudioGalaxy's variety and reliability. "You get what you pay for"

Full albums and complete discographies. Slow download, usually, so you need to have broadband and leave the software running (sometimes for days), but the sheer variety of stuff that's available (as well as the fact that it mostly consists of full albums and discographies) makes up for it.
