This is messed up.
From a website that I found that is from a guy from the future.

Yes it is a joke, but it is scary considering where we are in 2004.

A world war in 2015 killed nearly three billion people. The people that survived grew closer together. Life is centered on the family and then the community. I cannot imagine living even a few hundred miles away from my parents.
<snip>

There is a civil war in the United States that starts in 2005. That conflict flares up and down for 10 years. In 2015, Russia launches a nuclear strike against the major cities in the United States (which is the "other side" of the civil war from my perspective), China and Europe. The United States counter attacks. The US cities are destroyed along with the AFE (American Federal Empire)...thus we (in the country) won. The European Union and China were also destroyed. Russia is now our largest trading partner and the Capitol of the US was moved to Omaha Nebraska.
<snip>

I am here for personal reasons. For a few months now, I have bee trying to alert anyone that would listen to the possibility of a civil war in the United States in 2005. Does that seem more likely now? Actually it's quite amazing to see what's happening. I have been trying to get people to pay attention for the last few months but to see it unfold is very interesting. Before I leave, I'll try and post my report.
<snip>
Is there some sort of new world government in place by 2011?

On my worldline in 2011, the United States is in the middle of a civil war that has dramatic effects on most of the other Western governments.

Does the continuing conflict between Arabs and Jews have anything to do with the upcoming war?

Yes.

Do you still have an American flag? What does it look like in 2036?

Yes, we still have the flag. There is a debate about changing it from 50 stars to 5.

Do any of the states have new names?

Not that I can think of... No major cities anyway. I am aware that some
smaller towns changed their names after the war and most universities have the word "fort" before them on my worldline.
<snip>

Real disruptions in world events begin with the destabilization of the West as a result of degrading US foreign policy and consistency. This becomes apparent around 2004 as civil unrest develops near the next presidential election. The Jewish population in Israel is not prepared for a true offensive war. They are prepared for the ultimate defense. Wavering western support for Israel is what gives Israel's neighbors the confidence to attack. The last resort for a defensive Israel and its offensive Arab neighbors is to use weapons of mass destruction. In the grand scheme of things, the war in the Middle East is a part of what's to come, not the cause.

Does anything happen in the year 2012? I've heard stories about the world ending.

In my 2012, I was 14 years old spending most of my time living, running and hiding in the woods and rivers of central Florida. The civil war was in its 7th year and the world war was three years away. Yes, there are unusual events in 2012 but they do not cause the world to end. Unfortunately, I have decided not to discuss events that you or I can do anything about. It is important that they be a surprise. Perhaps you are familiar with the story of the Red Sea and the Egyptians?

How and why do the Arabs Jews become entangled in the civil war of the U.S.A?

They are not directly involved but political situations are dependant on Western stability, which collapses in 2005.
<snip>

The year 2008 was a general date by which time everyone will realize the world they thought they were living in was over. The civil war in the United States will start in 2004. I would describe it as having a Waco type event every month that steadily gets worse. The conflict will consume everyone in the US by 2012 and end in 2015 with a very short WWIII
<snip>
The United States is still a representative republic in 2036 but it was touch and go for a while. After the war, the U.S. had divided into 5 general areas based on their economic and defensive strengths. Many people blamed the government organization for the war and the last Constitutional Congress was held in 2020 to officially scrap the Constitution and start over. Fortunately, this exercise in anger pointed out how hard it was to come up with anything better. It was decided the document wasn't at fault. As a result, there have been a few small changes to the Constitution and the executive branch but you would easily recognize it. The average citizen is more educated about the Constitution and aware of the rights and responsibilities it gives them. Federal power has been decentralized and the focus of daily politics is in the state senates. Federal law has also been streamlined but much harder to change or make additions to.

1. I looked at that site
very strange. Too bad he can't keep his story straight -- the start of the civil war was in 2005, then he said 2004.

2. Oh John Titor, where did you go????
I think JT gets the vote for the best piece of guerrilla theatre on the Internet. Consider please, that this dramatic work was written slightly after the stolen 2000 election. Now, with all the anger then at Bush, who wouldn't predict a "civil war" in the near future or at the next election cycle.

I laugh at the people who buy this tripe as the Truth. It sounds like something my buddies and I would think up. While some real people did ask questions to the said "John Titor" who the fuck knows who they were talking to. All the questions took place over the conveniently anonymous Internet. Nice piece of theatre pulled over on the tin-foil hat crowd.

3. This has been the topic of considerable debate here at DU before.
I'm glad you revived it because it is quite interesting. A couple of friends and I have looked over his claims. I handled the military/political aspect, they took the physics side. According to Titor, his "time machine" is powered by a "dual counter-rotating singularity" or something. My physics-savvy pal informed me that if a singularity (kind of a mini black hole) were ever to be created on planet Earth then the whole planet would be crunched into a ball less than a centimeter in diameter. My other friend took issue with Titor's "multiple worldlines" statements. Titor said that decisions can only be made going forward on the worldline, not backwards. Therefore, there are infinite worldlines branching off every time someone somewhere makes a decision. As my friend pointed out, the number of worldlines branching forward would make it nearly impossible to return to his own worldline in his own time.

In addition, Titor claims in one post to have been born in 1998. This means that when he traveled to 1975 he went back to a time which pre-dated his own existence. Apparently this was possible for Titor. However, he also says that the machine is only accurate within a 60 year time window. When someone asks him about returning to the time of Jesus, Titor says he can't because it's so far back that he might end up on a worldline where he was never born, thereby causing his death. How does he reconcile this with the fact that he was able to travel back to 1975, before he was born. He didn't exist on any worldline prior to 1998, so shouldn't this also cause his death?

Titor's posts are riddled with inaccuracies and contradictions, these are just a few that come to mind right away.

14. Actually, because of Hawking Radiation

small singularities can't exist for any appreciable lenghth of time. A singularity weighing about 200000 kg would evaporate in 1 second in an explosion with a yield of over 2 million megatons. A singularity larger than that would be really hard to carry around.

7. Omaha as the capitol
I think Edgar Cayce also prophesized that Omaha would be the capitol someday.

Have you ever been in Omaha? It's a nice little town -- emphasis on little. I liked it, but it was so small! Like a poodle puppy -- I wanted to take it home with me and keep it in a box under my bed.

:)

Edited on Sat Mar-13-04 02:29 PM by rockymountaindem
Omaha won't be an option. It is the headquarters of the Strategic Air Defense Command. Right up there on the list of targets for a nuclear strike.

12. Dead Lord help us
Omaha isn't THAT small. It's just over a half million I think now. I lived there until I was 15. I think though, progressive thought is only in small pockets. It's heavily Freeperized to say the least. This is a frightening prospect. Then again, I might inherit some land eventually 2 hours outside of Omaha. Perhaps it might be worth more that way. :shrug: The only good I could see personally from this situation.

16. Sorry
Too late to edit, but I didn't mean to put "dead" lord there. I meant to put "Dear Lord". It was a typo. I'm not one to disparage spiritual beliefs of people. Sorry about that. :dunce:

13. Small doesn't mean it couldn't be the capital
DC was a small little town-about the size of Omaha-up until WWII.
