Sometimes (usually after clicking on a link), my cursor starts acting stubborn and downright willful.

It acts like it doesn't want to follow orders: it takes real effort to make it do what I want it to do; it stops moving completely for what seems like an eternity; or it zooms around the screen like it's drunk.

What's up with my cursor?

1. Are you using a mouse?
Try opening up the bottom, taking out the little ball, and cleaning out any lint and gunk that may be around the rollers.

2. Nope. It's a laptop pad thing.
Thanks, though!

6. Try plugging in a standard PS/2 or USB mouse.
See if it eliminates or narrows down the problem.

(you might have to reconfigure the BIOS set-up. I know on my old laptop I had to).

3. Well... it's either a sentient being
who is exercising it's will over yours and preparing it's diabolical plan to take over the world... or it's just broken.

4. These are my choices?
I was hoping you could perform some kind of cyber exorcism.
