What should be done about pyramid schemes?

We have been talking about these things earlier. They prey on the naive and desparate. In Bush's economy, they are flourishing because they can get away with it and they get more business out of desparate people. They are allowed at public job fairs to get at desparate people. I think they must be stopped. What about you?

Keeps saying "your're working to make someone else rich. Why not work to make yourself rich. He completely ignores the fact that if I join his scheme, I'm working to make him rich.

6. It's just that, a PYRAMID

and people forget that only the teeeeensy-weeeeensiest percentage will actually make it to the top. And to do that, you have to be willing to give presentations of products, go to functions, hand out brochures and sell, sell, SELL your product to anyone and everyone who will - or won't - listen.

And yes, about 0.01% of the people who do those things for a living have the "magic touch" and make a mint, but the other 99.99% will have to settle for being able to buy preposterous amounts of sundry items at a price somewhere between Sam's Club and Wal-Mart, at best.
