If that had happened here, the kid would have probably been sent to Juvenile detention. I'm a part time juvenile detention officer while I go to school, and we've had several kids whose parents have attacked them and when the kid fought back, they called the police, lied, and the police have sent the kids to jail. In our system, the adults believe the adults, which I think as a rule is stupid. Sure kids lie, but when the kid is the one with the bruises, the slash marks, etc, I think that policy is screwed to the max.
