Fruit allergies?
Twice after giving my little boy a fresh apple, he broke out in hives. Today he had a couple of bites of a fresh peach and broke out again. He doesn't have any problem with fruit juices or apple cider. One of the apples he ate was organic, so I doubt that it's a reaction to a pesticide.

Is it possible that he's allergic only to the skin of the fruit? I haven't tried giving him peeled slices yet.

1. Pitted fruits in season
That's what I bet he's allergic to.

4. Absolutely it's possible.

I had similar allergies as a child with the exact same reaction. We never did trace the exact cause and I outgrew the allergies, but for several years I had to stay away from pineapples and other high citrus acid fruits.

Keep benadryl around because you never know when those things will hit and it can be unbearbly painful if the reaction is severe.

I hope your son feels better.

5. This was a mild one, fortunately...
I gave him a sandwich, and the rash cleared up almost immediately. Benedryl's great when it's bad though.

Thanks!
:-)
