Poll question: Pet owners: How many pets do you have?
It seems like we here at DU are a pet-loving bunch!

So... do you have a pet?

1. A Dog and a Cat though...............
the cat thinks it's a dog because the dog raised it. He never uses his claws but does bite and if anything threatens the cat the dog is right there to protect him. The dog, by the way, is half lab and half pit bull.
A great pair.

5. Two cats.
Having more than two pets requires not only a hefty additional license fee here in Overland Park, Kansas, but permission from the neighbors on all sides. I learned that when a new neighbor across the street was licensing her three cats. I laughed at the person who came to the door, because I had no idea there were any animals in that house, since they were indoor cats.

I guess dogs in general would be harder to hide, since they need to go outside regularly.

10. Apparently two si the popular choice....
...if you have cats, two seems best--they need company, and three can cause "territory" issues, although I know that sometimes lots of cats can get along.

15. It's a zoo here
2 horses, 6 cats, two dogs, 4 chickens for starters. My wife is a state and federal wildlife rehaber. Always a few coons, possums, once and while a fox or deer. Then there's the owls and hawks. She's always saying,"guess what I have in the truck". She is also sometimes call the crazy lady on the block. But, I'd never trade her.
