1. W may be the worst ever.
Neither Hoover nor Reagan initiated a war.

7. Reagan ran from terrorists in Lebanon
invaded Grenada, played footsy with the Ayatollah and Saddam, and covertly funded the rape of nuns and the torture and murder of civilians in Central America.

I despise Shrub, but I lived through two terms of Reagan, and his lying, phony "Morning In America" bullshit lasted two terms.

2. george walker bush
the worst president this president has ever had, any party, any century. Dick Gephardt had it right, bush is a miserable failure, a criminal, a deserter, a liar, an ignorant puppet.

4. Reagan was the worst
Edited on Sun Mar-14-04 05:21 PM by BigBigBear
Despicable, disingenuous sonofabitch. A disgrace wrapped in a soundbite. Murderous, pilfering, corporate ass-kissing phony.

Shrub next, then Hoover, then Nixon.

5. Easily Bush.
Last night I was discussing this with people. If there was a president worse than Bush or that even came close to Bush since 1900. We thought maybe Hoover. But Hoover is not in the same league as Bush in terms of sucking as a President.

8. It's a tossup between * and Harding, in terms of crookedness
But * gets the crown due to hubris and warmongering.

10. I honestly think G.W. Bush is worst president in this nation's history.
Every horrible thing Reagan did has been done twice as horribly by Bush, Jr.

This is in many ways, a second Reagan presidency. Many of the same old bastards that did Reagan's thinking are now thinking for Dubya. They're just as crooked as ever, but they've got unprecedented control over all branches of government now. The media, too.

Add to that an incredibly apathetic and disillusioned populace that simply doesn't expect any better, and you've got a recipe for disaster.

Look at what happened to Reagan's presidency with Iran/Contra. The Iraq invasion/occupation makes Iran/Contra look like jaywalking, and yet many people neither know nor care about it.

11. There is a need for a poll on this? No matter how blatantly idiotic and
corrupt some of the others have been, bush* is the obvious winner.

20. Probably
He is a combination of the worst traits of all the others. There is nothing positive about him where as the others had some small redeeming qualities.

18. Maybe we should ask which was best; Bush is going to win worst no problem,
but you might have to go back as far as Ike to name the best Republican president since World War I.

19. I had to go with Reagan
He's the one who got the ball rolling. No "Reagan Revolution," no right wing domination today. Unholy as W* is, he'd be ineffectual if it weren't for the foundation laid by Bonzo.

Anyone who makes you recall the Reagan years with even a tiny degree of fondness is truly the worst president on the history of this great country.
