Christ, I don't even own an iron.

Considering BSA has a problem with Homosexuals (directly in conflict with their Law and Oath) you'd think they'd give into the Heterosexual stereotypes...

The uniform should be wrinkle free, and have velcro where the patches go.... (I had to buy a needle too, for godsakes...)

Sewing AND Ironing.

Jeez whats a straight single (divorced) man to to?

:)

1. My daughter is in Civil Air Patrol and we have this same problem.
I have holes in my thumbs from trying to get a needle to go through the webbing of her name patch on her BDU's. That and the expense. It kills me to do this for something I am not really fond of her being a part of. :hi:

2. It's not the sewing and wrinkling
that make me crazy....it's the OUTRAGEOUS price BSA wants for the pants, shorts and shirts....Scout uniforms cost an arm and a leg...Stupid to pay $35-40 for a pair of pants for a kid that is either in, or rapidly approaching a growth spurt where the uniform will fit for 4 months then be too small...Plus the kids are very rough on the uniforms and they wear out, get torn etc in short order.

I too, am an ASM and in most of the troops I've worked with over the years we want the kids to have the scout shirt, but don't worry about the rest of the uniform until they are ready for their Eagle board...it's just too costly for most parents, especially if they have two or more sons involved...My troop has set up a lending closet for shirts...as the kids grow like weeds at that age. Bring in a serviceable shirt that's too small and leave the troop meeting with a bigger shirt if one is available for trade.

Let me venture a guess here: Buy an iron and learn how to use it. I'm sure you can find someone to demonstrate the proper technique.

Ironing is NOT an exclusive task of females or gays. And, while you're at it, teach your son how to iron as well. :-)

6. Why wouldn't you want to get married again?
Perhaps the next time around would be the charm?
