1. starring Will Smith
I haven't seen much else though. I think there might have been a teaser trailer on the web a few months ago, but I am not sure.

Still... I am pretty sure they aren't going to use the film as an exploration of law and morality as Asimov did with his book.

I predict many superfluous explosions and action sequences that don't appear in any of the stories.

4. directed by alex proyas....
...a pretty clever director who directed the first "crow" movie and the highly-watchable/pretty intelligent "dark city". i kind of have high hopes for this movie, even though i'm not an asimov nut.

6. We saw a preview of it last night before the new Johnny Depp movie
Yep--- robots get violent.

Will Smith is the cop, Bruce Greenwood (Canadian actor who plays good-looking smarmy villains) is the factory owner.

The robots are kind of milky plexi-glass. But reprehensor looked very bored and muttered "Bet it doesn't look anything like the book."

So I'm not expecting much. But I also haven't read the book. Not being a purist, maybe someone like me would like it.

8. When I heard about Will Smith being in I Robot
I immediately figures he was going to be the Cop Bot. Asimov did caste the Cop Bot as black. The previews fixed that image fast. Leapy violent robots with anger management problems. Not exactly the 3 laws of robotics material here. Though I will go see it.
