I never met a carbohydrate I didn't like
Carb's are my very best friends. They are inexpensive and provide energy that I desperately need to make it through the day.

You name it. From pasta to rice, from beer (mmmmm, beer) to breakfast cereal, I like all carbohydrates.

It's just the way I am.

Call me Mr. Anti-Atkins!

I LOVE carbs. I could never do Atkins. I really could live on good bread alone.

I'm trying to lose weight now, but I am following Weight Watchers which does allow you to eat carbs. I've lost 7 pounds in the past month.

6. I may have to permanently sew my lips
together. I had Babka for breakfast and Babka for lunch--am considering it for dinner. Already cooked and ready to slice. I cannot resist it. All I need is a topknot on my head and I would resemble a sumo wrestler. Not pretty!

Except for the beer, which I've never tasted and don't care to. I absolutely ADORE bread, pasta, rice and sweet desserts. I also love beef and chicken (and some fish), but carbs are my mainstay.

Friend, I can't imagine a day with out chips and salsa at three pm.(My idea of tea time, iced tea, chips and salsa).
Fresh bread in the morning out of the bread maker, with butter and honey..
Excuse me I have to go get a slice! Or two!!:9

4. me too. but then i hit 40 y.o. and my body chemistry changed
and i put on about 30 lbs in spite of spending hours playing basketball. so, hello low carb diets. :(

Teen years to mid 30's: If you have an active life style, you can eat all the carbs you want.
Post 30's: Watch those carbs!

potatoes, rice, pasta, chips of all kinds. :9

But high-glycemic carbs don't love me anymore. :-(

It's because I'm starting to think I've turned into my mother, and instead of running screaming from the apparition, I'm running right to it, begging it to feed me chips and dip and popcorn and Coca-Cola and pasta, oh, god, more pasta please!! PASTA!

15. There's healthy carbs, and unhealthy carbs
That's one of the reasons my husband's gone on the South Beach diet, rather than Atkins - it's a lot healthier, as it emphasizes lean cuts of meat, reduction in consumption of full-fat dairy, and emphasizes less-processed foods - vegetables, wholegrain breads and pastas, things like that. My husband's lost 22 pounds in the last month (his goal is to lose 80), and even I, who only had 15 pounds to lose, have lost 10. It's a very satisfying way to eat, too - we've not had cravings or been hungry at all.

Carbs in wholegrain foods, fruits, beans, things like that are healthful. High-glycemic foods - foods that cause your blood sugar to quickly spike - are not healthy for most folks. So it's best to emphasize complex carbs, not simple sugars.

I didn't even realize I had a sugar addiction until I went sugarless for the first two weeks of the diet. I had withdrawal symptoms! I've never been a binger or much of a candy eater, but my wine and couple cookies a day was obviously enough to make a sugar addict of me. I feel much better having switched to eating less sugars and saturated fats and eating more vegetables and fish. It's also quite a bonus that it's turned out to be much cheaper to eat this way, even buying expensive fish and shellfish. Processed foods are EXPENSIVE!
