3. jeez i'm chatty today...but back OT: Good for you!
i got rid of cable in 99, haven't looked back. saves money, allows me to think clearly, and prevents me from having my precious brain cells busied with nonsense about Kobe or whatever...(i don't even know about that story, except i've heard he's accused of rape)

it can be interesting, no? to talk to TV junkies and realize how trapped they are, the way in which their opinions, hell almost any idea they entertain, is somehow affected by TV. even the strongest minds are subject to images, sounds, crap- and it sticks with you for years. i believe there are studies which demonstrate brain activity decreases while viewing TV...and then there's FAUX. nuff said.

but anyway- good on you!

4. I'm at one week, Arwalden....
Pleased as punch not to hear the garbage, but having trouble divorcing myself from stupid TVland reruns and other timewasters....

Need very much to go cold turkey on tv in general-- any suggestions? My addiction is mainly winddown prior to bed and the need for "white noise" when I'm doing other things.... Music just isn't interactive enough in the background... even when I'm on DU....

6. 31 months and counting
I stopped watching after the 2000 election. Cable news rots your brain. I don't even remember when I gave up the fear-mongering network news shows, it was so long ago. Any television news I watch now is either BBC World or the Daily Show.
