4. Louie, Louie
Yeah, they stole the "let's give it to 'em right now" from the Wailers' Rockin' Robin Roberts; but making a sweet little song so unintelligible as to garner an FCC investigation for "obscenity" (there is no obscenity in the song) is sheer GENIUS.

6. Ever heard Richard Berry's original?
He actually sang it calypso-style! And the lyrics were perfectly understandable.

They're from the point of view of a guy who's sitting at a seaside bar and telling the bartender (Louie) that his girlfriend will soon be arriving by ship. And now, the narrator's gotta go because the ship will be here any minute. Nothing obscene at all!

7. Yup. Good record.
I do like the Kingsmen's version better, though.

Let's go!
