Why can't Winter last longer?
I barely got used to the periods of cold, wet days when now I have to adjust to the knowledge of oncoming unbearable heat. I can take winter because it's not very harsh where I am, and can always put on another layer of clothes. When I go out in the heat, I become slow-minded, dehydrated and bitchy.

Who wants Winter to stay around a bit longer??????

1. No more winter for me
It's suppose to snow here in CT tommorrow afternoon through the overnight. I am dreading it. I'll take the heat anyday over the cold and snow.

3. I've lived in various parts of the country
and experienced different climates. I tend to prefer those places with four distinct seasons, including an obvious winter. One that lasts for three or four months with lots of snow. But that's just me.

17. Same here
After the springs of the last couple years here in SE PA, though, I'm wishing for a nice, long spring. I don't like it when it goes from cold to hot.

20. I live in the absolute middle of the continental country.
I love distinct seasons. Lots of snow means no school, whoopee! Then, my child wants to go someplace, whoopee! I say, "If the bus can't make it, neither can my vehicle".

In the spring, great, lots of energy then.

In the summer, work work work, and a lot of fun.

In the fall, beautiful, work, work, enjoy, and get ready for the winter.

9. I've been saying the same thing!
....well, actually....I've had to stop saying it because people groan at me.

But I LOVE winter and all the work it brings like splitting wood, shovelling snow, cooking soups and stews, making smores in the fireplace on a cold day and late night baths in the claw tub with the shutters open so I can watch the snow swirling around.

I wish it was winter all year! :donut:

14. Me!
I hate heat. I truly do. It makes me irritable. Grumpy. Impatient. Lazy. Frustrated. And I live in the Mojave Desert. Winter can last a little longer.

The high today was 80; tomorrow's forecasted to be 84.

Once the cool goes away, it's another 6 months before I can be comfortable again or get anything done during the day.

15. Not me!
:scared: :scared: :scared:

And I live in Texas where we can have triple digit temps AND humidity in the summer! I am tired of the chill and the rain. Bring on spring and summer. I have my bathing suit and sun screen, and I am ready to hit the beach! I am currently monitoring the beach water temperature, and it is going up one degree each day, so, I do have hope.

19. I want winter to stay too!
I'm from Southern California, so I don't really experience a real winter, but I wish it would stay cooler..it's already starting to get nasty out. Not too unbearable yet but I feel it coming. x(

23. Really cold dry weather, means
good hair days, for days and days. Goes with it: inside of nose cracks. Fun. Car doors refuse to open, or refuse to shut. Fun. Bring in the wood, which has bugs. Fun. When you burn the wood, do remember to open the damper. The most aggressive buggies survive. Get cozy. Be as one with the insects you have given shelter to.

Now the pet has a pet, many many pets. Priceless.

24. Our cold is definitely dry - but fortunately, no bugs in the wood!
Maybe a few at the start of winter, but once we've had a good freeze (30 to 40 below) the little idiots freeze. They have to be burrowers to survive the winter.

I love winter, as well - and winter up here especially. Northern lights are incomparable, the snow is soft and very fine - you literally just brush it off. It's also very easy to shovel, there's so little weight to it.

Then comes Breakup - now THAT is a pain!!

26. So, tell me, denali,
What do you do when the frozen BIG DOG poop thaws? When you say "oh shit" and try not to slip and fall in the BIG DOG poop.

Spring break-up stinks. Because everyone has BIG DOGS. Moose poop is not that bad. But BIG DOGS poop is bad. And why pick it up? It will be frozen for months. Until the thaw. Then, yeehaw, slip and slide. Yuck. Wear boots, that's my advice.

28. Oh,Yes, boots.
However, I was in your neck of the woods in early summer. "Hey there is a mountain, and there is another mountain, and another and another, and look, there is a rainbow and another and another", friend, it was the most beautiful place I have ever been.

Except for all the thawing dog poop.

29. Have had quite enough winter here in Minnesota, thanks...although the
water table is really low and we need the moisture desperately. Hope we get sufficient rain this spring and at the right times for the farmers to do their thing and feed us all, god bless 'em...
We did have to go retrieve the canoe off the bank where it had been 'parked' for the winter; the river had come up to the point where we were a little fearful it might get swept away.
But no more snow! And no more wind-chills that get below 30!! I am WAY ready for spring!
