Yet another complaint about my stupid brother!!!!

At dinner, about five minutes ago, we (my parents, my brother, and I) got in a discussion about the fact that I'm tutoring an Asian girl in math. My brother was saying that her parents probably hit her because she needs a white tutor. Disgraced, i said "Don't make fun of Asians!" He responded with "Don't make fun of republicans." I glared at him for about five seconds before my mom interjected "being republican is a choice, John." met by "having an Asian lifestyle is a choice too." (:wtf:) And i responded with a pissed off expression "yeah, but people don't make fun of people who actually aren't Asian." Then, after a little while of arguing that out, my brother, losing the argument, flew off topic: " hey a lot of your friends are Asian aren't they.... but that's because you're like the only smart white kid in your school" which put him in a laughing fit. I looked at my parents with my eyebrow raised; my mom just shrugged. At that point, i decided i was finished and put my bowl in the sink. As, I'm walking over to the sink my brother says "I don't think we should allow foreigners in our schools" "What!?" i exclaimed. And he just says "Yeah, they crowd our country and make us look bad." (or something along those lines; i can't remember i was in a rage) I charged up the stairs and sat down to type but threw my chair because i was so pissed!!!!!

ignoramus - he knows asian children are raised to believe that an education is mandatory if you want to progress in life - being a truck driver like daddy is not always the best remedy. Your brother is probably angry because asians (as well as others) come to this country penniless and are soon up and running with their own business or going to good universities. Naturally, this goes against your brothers obvious belief that he has the right to everything without making any sort of attempt in achieving it.
Dont let him bother you - you are on the right track while he excels at some mcdonalds job later in life

but my brother's joining the marines and plans to stay in for twenty years. And if that doesn't work he's got some stupid plan worked out for a job as a Ralph's store manager or something.... I haven't bothered to listen to it put he has "connections" It's not the greatest job but it'll put dinner on the table I'm told (not by him, many others). But thank you for the compliment

share your brothers views. Yeah it's racist and it's wrong, but it's a reality.

What you need to do is think of things that will put your brother in his intellectual place. The next time he starts to get under your skin, calm yourself and then blast him with the facts. ZombyWoof did a pretty good job at this with his brother-in-law. I think the thread about it is still on the front page of the lounge. Check it out. It's inspirational. If you can do something like that, your brother will feel like the mental midget he truly is.

I got thrown in jail in Fort Lauderdale once and he drove all the way from Atlanta to bail my young butt out. I may sound like your father (or mother) but I can promise you this ... you have to learn to control your emotions or they will just destroy you, and that a sign of maturity is learning to disagree with members of your own family and still love them. And normally, me being the open-minded liberal I am, I would respect his views. I mean, but this is going to far. Does he even know how extremely right-wing he is and how extreme his "ideas" are?

See, what is he, almost 19 now? Does he understand the concept of how foreigners help our economy by creating job growth, even if most of the jobs they take are lower level ones? Does he understand the concept of diversity, or that he himself has grandparents and farther or closer behind him (cause I know he's adopted) probably has ethnic background, and without those people coming to America, he wouldn't be here, but instead most likely living in a third world country ravaged with hunger and a difficult life?
