html help with vertical alignment
In the table on top of the page at:
http://www.moveleft.com/moveleft5.asp

I used the following:
<table CELLSPACING="0" CELLPADDING="12" borders="0">
<tr VALIGN="top">
<td VALIGN="top">

<a href="http://www.verifiedvoting.org"><img src="" WIDTH=340 HEIGHT=75 border="0" target="_blank"></a>
test

</td>
</tr>
</table>

Why is the word "test" near the bottom of the cell instead of the top?

1. Try....

Try adding: <td VALIGN="center"> as well as the <td VALIGN="top">

On edit:
If you highlight your entire page, the "text" appears to be in
the lower right-hand side of a cell.

2. Put your test word in a new td next to your image
It's just one of the illogical behaviors of html.

8. The "target" attribute.
The "target" attribute belongs inside the <a>
tag.

Take a look at this very good tutorial page.
http://www.emc.maricopa.edu/faculty/tableman/htmlf/sld081.htm

This is part of a very clear basic html tutorial.

In other words, if you want the link to open in another
window, you'd type:

<a href="http://www.verifiedvoting.org"
target="_blank"><img
src="whatever.jpg" width="340"
height="75" border="0"></a>

The <img> tag doesn't have a "target"
attribute.

Where would you like the word "test" to appear?

.rog.
