Hey there - some of us will be showing a bit of solidarity with Rachel Corrie tomorrow, and I thought you might be interested in participating.

There is an image of Rachel we will be changing our avatars to tomorrow (March 16th one year since she died). You can find that image at this link:



Right click the image, save it to your computer, then follow DU's instructions for setting up a personal avatar image (note that this picture is jpg format. I would not advise linking directly to the image on miamihost.net. It is a free web-server, and only a certain amount of bandwidth is allowed. But just for a bunch of us downloading it once or twice shouldn't be any problem.

I suggest that we all change our avatars before making our first post to DU on March 16th, and then change them back whenever we feel appropriate. Maybe just for the one day, maybe longer if you want to keep it. But grab that image off the miamihost now because it probably won't be up for very long. Also, don't change your avatar before March 16th please.

If you'd like to participate, I say thank you. IMHO we ought to show Rachel some solidarity, particularly in the I/P board where all these hawks are constantly smearing her good name.

If you don't wish to particpate, hey no problem, and I hope I didn't offend you by assuming that you might want to be a part of this. We all have differing opinions and perspectives, and I understand that.

I didn't say that I would have killed Rachel Corrie. You don't understand the meaning behind my post, I don't think. What I believe is that if I had been the bulldozer driver, I would have bulldozed the houses too, and that Rachel Corrie was breaking the law by standing in the way.
