I'm clueless as to the author.

It is the Highwayman and I cannot remember the name of the author but I think his first name was Alfred.

I read the poem for my college Oral Interpretation class, but the professor didn't like it. He thought there were much better poems to study so we only spent about half a class on it.

My sister used to read it to me when I was a little girl. I didn't know anyone had put it to music. That is awesome.
