Phoenix on pace for hottest July ever!
Now you KNOW that has to be hot, hot, hot!!

We've been under Excessive Heat Warnings for last several weeks.
I love the heat more than cold and even I am getting tired of this.

1. I'm getting tired of driving 15 miles to work with no AC...
wearing black pants and a collared polyester shirt. By the time I walk through the front door, I need another shower. My customers must think I'm insane.

3. I lived through one summer here w/o AC in my car.
Just one. Never again. I feel your pain.

Can you take your work clothes with you and change into them when you get there?

7. I've never owned a car that had AC. I've been driving for 4 years.
Last summer, I had to drive back from ASU West (Glendale) to my house in Queen Creek at 4 PM. It was 115. I was sitting in stop and go traffic on the 101 wondering if I was actually in hell.

I guess I could change at work. But the bathrooms gross me out. And that's saying a lot considering I lived in the ASU dorms for 9 months.

5. This feels even worse because June was one of the coolest on record.
It was beautiful, cool in the evenings. I spent most of June outside. I'm glad I did.

9. Ya know, I haven't heard too many alerts.
Usually the weather people just say to avoid unnecessary driving and to fill the gas tank after dark.
Surprisingly smog hasn't been too much of a problem.

11. Most of the alerts come in the winter.
We get something called an inversion layer that traps the pollution.

In the summer we get enough thunderstorms with high winds to keep the air reasonable. I wish we'd get some rain with the wind though. At my house we haven't seen even a 1/4" of rain.

8. LOL You sound like my mom.
She lives in Henderson and teases me about it being 'cooler' where she lives. :)

13. Yep, downright balmy here.
Currently 111 degrees, with 11 percent humidity - call your mom and tell her she needs to put on a sweater :hi:
