will pitt has taken over my computer!
For some reason, when I go to play music on my computer, it's been doing something very strange...Realplayer opens, starts loading and suddenly a disembodied voice starts talking: "Hello, this is William Rivers Pitt..."

WTF? Spectral voices from Massachusetts? :scared:

The first time this happened I had the volume turned up a bit too loud. I nearly had heart failure.

How did Mr. Pitt do this? And why?

I vaguely remember watching him give a speech last year...

I just hope none of the Bush clips I've downloaded start doing this.

I hate when computers do something you told them to that you don't know how to do!

1. There are worse things that it could be playing at you...
Ace of Bass or speeches by our brainless leader. Consider yourself lucky. :)

5. True enough!
If it had said "This is John Ashcroft," I would have required emergency resusitation.

2. It might have that audio postcard thing from the Kucinich campaign
stuck in there. Real Player is evil though...

Maybe it's haunted. There used to be a funny albeit dead-serious site about spirit voices coming from coffee makers and other household appliances - with .rm files so you could hear the whispering voices yourself - but it's not around anymore.

edit: typo
