Went to the Doctor Today
I'm seeing a spine specialist due to the accident I was in on Feb 27th. I brought along the CT scan films that were taken on Sunday when my wife took me to the E/R. (I was taking a shower and bent my head back to wash my hair - suddenly I have a sharp pain in my neck and a splitting headache!)

The spine specialist looked at the films and said it looked like I had some bone spurs on a few of the vertebrae in my neck. So he ordered an MRI.

I'll keep you all posted.

1. Bummer.
Hopefully the situation is correctable without surgery. I know have crappy neck surgery on the spine is. My mother has been through two surgeries for broken vertabrae in her neck.

I had an MRI three years ago and it showed compression in C4-C5-C6.
Same reason. Auto accident. The headaches and neck pain were a bee.

Edit: Do you take ibuprofen or pain relievers? Sometimes they help. Praying for you that it's not too bad.

6. Two Pain Relievers and One Muscle Relaxer
I had an MRI in 2001, after I was rear-ended on the Interstate. It revealed one herniated disc in my lumbar area. A few months later, a discogram revealed a second herneated disc. I've been wearing a TENS unit for almost two years now.

I consider myself lucky that my spine held even though 5 years later I still can crack my neck and have some pain.

Had the same regimen for 3 days after the accident then went the D.O. route for 2 years before the MRI was done.

Mine was hitting a Ford F150 head on that was parked in my lane facing me on a road with no shoulder and didn't see him in time because his lights were out.

7. I Went the Chiropractic Route After My Accident in 2000
Two and three sessions a week. Also massage therapy, physical therapy, and acupuncture. Nothing worked. Finalle they did an MRI (18 months AFTER the accident) and found the first herniated disc.

I've been going to physiatrists, pain management, and spine specialists ever since.

10. The Pain Specialist Wants to Repair My Herniated Discs...
...by doing an IDET procedure, where they insert electtrodes into the disc wall and apply an electric current. It's fairly succesful and less invasive than surgery. I'm waiting for approval from the insurance company - that accident happened when Colorado was a no-fault state and my medical bills are being handled by the PIP system.
