6. RIP Les
I am proud to share a first name with him. Every electric guitar player and anybody who has ever used a multitrack recorder owes him a great debt of gratitude

he shall be missed :(

7. Oh no. Where would we have been without the 1958 and 1959 Les Paul Classic?
RIP Les. You were a true master.

8. I loved seeing his name in the New Yorker
every week since I was in high school. Every time I saw his name in there, all I could think was, "Wow, he's still alive. I really should go to New York and see him play."

10. The guy basically invented overdubbing as a recording technique.
And he did it at a time when multitrack tape didn't exist.

On some of those early recordings, you'd swear there are drums but no - it's just Les chugging away on rhythm guitar.
