Has anyone heard any news about the World War Z movie?

When is it coming out? What stories are going to be portrayed? Actors? Anything?

2. I almost think a 10 episode series on HBO or showtime would be best

that way you get all or most of the stories covered. It even could be down as a mockumentary. An episode on the pacific war including the Chen's subs and the pacific continent, an episode on the spread in China and South Africa, an episode on Yonkers to the redeker plan, an episode on the conference in Hawaii to the end of the war, etc.

3. I said something like that a couple of years ago.

A mini-series on HBO would be the best way to do World War Z. That was before they picked up True Blood though. HBO isn't going to wrap up the money it would take to produce something like WWZ if they've already got money wrapped up in another super-natural show. It's a shame too. There are a lot of great stories in that book that I know are going to get passed over in a full movie.

I really want them to do Patient Zero, The Russian Decimation, Battle of Yonkers, The story about the feral girl, the family that goes north and resorts to cannibalism, Israel's plan, the transplanted organs story, and the Phalanx story.

I can take a pretty good guess as to what will actually be done though. It will be Patient Zero, Phalanx, Redeker Plan, People trying to escape large cities, Battle of Yonkers, woman in the swamp, Japanese guy and blind guy (my least favorite stories), Battle of Hope, and the Goodbyes. There may be a hand full of others, but I'm pretty sure those will be in there.

4. if it's only a movie, you can be sure the Iran-Pakistan nuclear war will be in it

as will the destruction of the Three Gorges Dam and the nuking of the Chinese Communist leaders.

5. I think those would be too hard do. There really isn't anyone to personify with the story.

They will probably get mentioned, as will Cuba success and N. Korea's disappearance, but I don't think they will be made into stories. The celebrity bunker has a decent chance of making it in there, but I don't know if it will since the story isn't exactly about the celebs.

6. I'm less optimistic if we only got a movie and not a whole series

with a two hour movie, they'll put more bang in it to sell more tickets. So I'd be afraid the nuking will get scenes at the expense of some of the more personal stories. If the right person does the movie, then we'll get more of the personal stories.
