Can we PLEASE pick a spot for the NYC post-march meetup???
People have posted numerous threads on post-march get-togethers in NYC this Saturday. However, in a demonstration that encompasses hundreds of thousands of people -- and considering the fact that DUers will be coming from many different places -- is it reasonable to expect that we will be able to even find each other in the crowd to meet up afterwards?

What I am proposing is that we pick a central gathering spot for some specific time after the march, at which we can all meet up and enjoy a few tall cold ones together. NYC DUers, you could help out greatly by recommending some spots, so we can decide upon one or two.

Personally, I don't plan to be at the beginning of the march, as I will be attending an energy fair upstate that same morning. But I would like to make it down to the city that afternoon/evening to meet up with some of my fellow DUers.

Whaddya think, is it a good idea?

2. I'm coming in with my peace group from Delaware
so I'm not really doing the DU thing. But I'd love to meetup with some folks from DU - just don't know where we'll end up once we get to NYC.

5. Downtown might be the best bet........

There will be a lot of congestion in midtown all day on Saturday, more than usual anyhow , besides the best hangouts in the city are downtown.......

6. OK, How About "3rd and Long"
It's on 3rd Ave and 35th St. It's not expensive and they have food. It's also close enough to where the demonstration is, so that you can walk there (around 15 blocks away), but not so close that it's going to be amazingly crowded after the demonstration.

7. That sounds great to me! A hop-skip-and-jump from Grand Central
Should we decide on a time, or just when people start to show up? How will we know each other -- I don't know that many DUers by face.

8. How about around 5pm-ish?
We'll find eachother somehow I'm sure. I'll be able to recognize a few people. I'll be the guy with beard, wearing a brown fedora and leather jacket...Some people think I look a bit like Indiana Jones w/ the hat...

10. OK, I'm in.
I'll either have on a red ski jacket with my own brown fedora, or without the hat if it's somewhat nice out. If I can't spot you right away, I'll just yell, "BEETWASHER!" at the top of my lungs. ;-)

I might not be there until closer to 6 -- it all depends on if I catch the 3:35 or 4:35 train out of Mt. Kisco. It's about an hour ride for me.

15. Done.
What time, approximately? My roomate will be in New York that day on separate business, and I want to tell him when to come by.

11. I'm staying in a hotel at East 42nd street
near Grand Central. I know zero about New York, so can someone tell me if this is close to anything that resembles a good meeting place?
