2. I wish I could.
I'm rereading "A Confederacy of Dunces" right now and it has triggered my affections for Nawlins, big time.

3. Boss, where have you been?
I love your posts. We mosey on over to NO often. As a matter of fact, my daughter is moving to NO within the next two weeks. Guess I'll be visiting more often then. Two hours from NO was such a plus when we moved to Lafayette over 20 years ago. Now, we love living in South Louisiana so much, we will never leave, especially Lafayette. It is so beautiful down here in the Spring. The flowers, flowering trees, shrubs, etc. are so beautiful. The 70 degree weather is great too.

BTW, I think the food is just as good in Lafayette as it is in NO. Course, we don't have quite the ambiance that NO has. It is a wonderful, culturally rich city.

Ya'll come. It's different down here. We actually live very happily among the French. South Louisiana, where the true heart of America resides. Indeed, "Let the Good Times Roll" (Laissez Le Bonn ton roullet) I believe that's correct. I can't spell it right half the time, but I know it's "Laissez". Have fun, Boss. You're certainly in the right place for it.

7. Our Azaleas are fixing to explode
in bloom. The crape myrtles have that wonderful brand new growth on them (they line our driveway). The tulips are just about done for the season. The red buds are still blooming. I've had zero luck with dogwoods. I have planted 15 over the years and have not saved one of them. The redbuds grow like weeds. Jackson Square should be in full bloom by early April. Enjoy the season.

4. BOSSHOG, you know I'd be there if I could
but I"m going to have to settle for my wife's HR conference at the end of June, just in time for the wether to go into full-scale sultry sulk, with a good chance of getting rained on every afternoon.

But hey, Ant Pam and Ma-Mere are gonna keep the kids the first few days of the conference while we stay at the hotel.

We are gonna LLBTR big time, yeah, you right!

8. The weather will be fine
May I suggest an evening brew sitting on the balcony of the tropical Isle on Bourbon Street watching humanity stroll by. The poboys are excellent at the Alpine on Chartres and there is a relatively new Wine Restaurant on Orleans about a block behind St Louis Cathedral. Very nice menu.

9. I don't know the Tropical Isle
As an old Quarter Rat, the only time I can see Bourbon and drink at the same time is at the new Old Absinthe House.

The other tips sound swell, tho'. I've been away so damned long.

And R's be damned, I'm going to the Acme!

5. Man...I have GOT to get down there!
It's only 8 hours by car!

Too bad I'll be in DC and Philly when Lazz Fest starts...maybe the second weekend? :D

10. Wish I could be down there in April
We tried to get tix for the Women's Final Four in NOLA, but didn't win in the lottery. Maybe next year...though a weekend down there would have been so nice...
