My manicurist-- Stern junkie-- is fired up about Bush!!

Got my nails done today. My manicurist is an Italian Jersey girl in her late twenties, never been interested in politics, though she has a jaundiced and no doubt accurate view that power corrupts.

She starts raving about how she's a faithful Stern listener and it's criminal how the Bush Administration is trying to crucify him. She's talking about how they stole the election in Florida-- she saw a video about it in Howard's website. She's talking about how they are wasting all our money in Iraq and supposedly they're trying to bring democracy there but they're taking it away from us here! She's talking about how scary it is that these crazy fundamentalists who control the government are trying to tell people how they should live-- and what's wrong with gay marriage anyway?--marriage is a civil union and if individual churches don't like it they don't have to perform gay marriages. She gets a lot of info from the Stern website, under "Required reading", and from the show itself.

AND-- she's only voted once in her life, but she's definitely voting in November. Way cool.

6. I recently took a new job and have been listening in the car

and Howard is insanely ABB, its nice to hear someone on the radio who isn't hopelessly pro republican.

its also nice to hear Howard sticking up for the broadcast airwaves that we still temporarily own. the big media companies are taking over for good, soon enough.
