First, I got a shipment of sax reeds and guitar strings that I ordered from The Woodwind in South Bend, IN. Maybe it's just me, but I love getting sax reeds in the mail. My reed knife is going to be busy tonight.

I also got some books I ordered from Amazon.com. Here they are:
*The Book On Bush (How George W. (Mis)leads America - Alterman & Green
*The I Hate Republicans Reader (Why the GOP is Totally Wrong About Everything) - edited by Clint Willis
*Whitehouse Inc. Employee Handbook (A Staffer's Guide to Success Profit and Eternal Salvation) - by our friends at whitehouse.org

From only a short flip-through, the Employee Handbook looks to be a riot! I haven't even read much of it yet, but I recommend it already. Hilarious! Fans of whitehouse.org, landoverbaptist.org, and bettybowers.org need to pick it up. The authors of the book are responsible for each of those sites.

Last but not least, I got a very nice card in the mail from a very nice person, and I've been grinning stupidly ever since I read it.


P.S. - I'll post my own version of book reviews on the other two books after I read them, which will no doubt consist of pithy comments like "AWESOME!" and "This book kicks the ass out of The Happy Scrappy Hero Pups!", and "I want to impregnate this book, but I lost my hole-saw". Umm, yeah.

Someone posted it on a Fark PS thread about a year ago, and it made me laugh so hard I saved it. A few days ago I found it on my hard drive and decided to use it here. I wish I could remember who posted it and give credit, but I'm too lazy to review all those threads.

I like getting reeds. I like getting books. The nice card wins out, though. (which is why I said the least about it)
