CCR is still one of my favorites and "Bad Moon Rising" is terrific. I don't know why you (effectively) put Zager & Evans in the same category as Mancini ... 2525 was a "consciousness" song.

picked Lonely Girl. I just love when males can sing high (notes) so beautifully.
Saw him about two years ago on one of those tv- bring back the oldies singers on stage- and he was just as perfect as ever.
