Poll question: Dodgers or Phillies?
I realize this is possibly more or less a veiled poll for "are there more Dodgers or Phillies fans at DU," but I'm gonna ask anyways: Who do you think will win the NLCS?

4. It's going to be a toss-up, 7 game series
unless the Phillies bullpen steps up and turns into their 2008 bullpen.
But any team that has Jim Thome, Orlando Hudson, and Juan Pierre ON THEIR BENCH is one deep f-ing team. I predict lots of shootouts this series.

5. Nobody has won the NLCS who lost the first game in 17 years.
But that's bound to change SOMEtime...

7. Kershaw's collapse lost the game yesterday
It was a hitter's game in the end, with both teams doing well.

Dodgers will even it up today - and I am thinking one way or the other, it's coming back to L.A. by the end of next week.

10. both teams have a ton of great hitters
whichever pitching staff can control the other's hitters wins the series. Dodger's will probably handle Martinez and even it up, then it's up to Lee in Game 3 to really decide the series.

17. I still say Phils even if they lose today. But that bullpen worries me,
Utley suddenly forgot how to field, and Manuel thinks it's 2008 a little too much. I hope they find ways to win.

19. Why didn't he give Pedro at least one more batter?
Edited on Fri Oct-16-09 06:02 PM by mvd
Unless Pedro said he was tiring, I don't understand that move. I have a little more confidence in Lidge, but no one else in the bullpen.

22. Mark Grace calls Broxton the "biggest man on the face of the earth"
Grace announces for the Dbacks so I listen to him all season long. He's pretty funny.

29. I want the Dodgers to win. I know the Phillies will, however.
No offense to Philly fans, it's just that the Dodgers have been my sister's favorite team since she was old enough to hold a baseball by herself. She's going nuts over this series and has scheduled her job around it. Gotta support my little sis.
