4. Deliberated and decided on no for both gsons and happy about the
decision, (my daughter and her husband). More and more insurance companies will not pay for this unnecessary surgery.

5. what is the problem with being circumsized? (he asked innocently)
Personally I think it's more aesthetically pleasing and I'm glad I am.

7. Painful and unnecessary. Watched a video of an infant having it done
and then my sil was all for not doing it to his first son so it was a given with the second. To each his own (don't have one and had 2 daughters so never had to make that decision).

8. One of the guests..(show's over now) said this...
People argue that it's best because Dads want their sons to "look like him".. This doctor said.. "So if Dad had lost an eye, he would want his newborn son to have an eye removed"??

My sons were, because that was the norm back then, but if I had it to do over, I would not..

A minister on the show also said that if one believes that God is in charge, why would God make a baby boy "wrong", and then ask the doctors to "fix" him "?

I think it all goes back to the puritanical nature of the US.. Caring for a little boy who is uncircumsized, involves more than a quick swish with a soapy washcloth.. I would be willing to bet that THIS is where it comes from.. Mothers being "afraid" to "handle" their son's "naughty parts"..

9. First son was, second was not.
Medical opinions had changed in the three years - or maybe it was just me. I do remember the other little boys at his babysitter would gather round for the seoond son's diaper changing. They were just fascinated by his "appearance."
