5. In real life, Mr. Roper was the brother of a close family friend.

A very nice guy, actor Norman Fell, not creepy at all. Born and raised in Philly, his sister and brother-in-law and their kids lived across the street from my family when I was a kid. (He also looked better in real life, too, though, certainly not a great looking guy.)
