3. It's been over a year since I strayed into organ meat.........
when I was a kid 40+ years ago (teen-ager actually) liverwurst and onions with a slice of swiss and a Pabst Blue Ribbon was THE lunch at work. And then they raised the drinking age to 21 AFTER I turned 21 so I didn't miss out. Then liverwurst became a rarity when we realized how bad organ meats can be.

29. Oddly enough, I LOVE liver and liverwurst.
Always did, even when I was little. Don't get why people think it's gross.

Edited on Thu Dec-03-09 10:30 PM by Rhiannon12866
The only thing I've had today is two cups of coffee and a cookie... That sandwich looks awfully good, but I'll have to see what I have on hand. I have left over Chinese food unless I can find something else. :-(

I'm all for cookies and coffee, but that's not enough for a growing DUer. Please, have something -- toast and marmelade, a banana, something! :-(

11. Nommers Chippies!
Edited on Fri Dec-04-09 02:01 AM by astral
O.G. tortilla chips with sharp cheddar cheese melted on them.

topped with BEANS that have been home-made the day before and have onion and garlic and green pepper in them, swirled up into the right texture by my hand-held chopper thingy

topped with Daisy sour cream
topped with HOT pace picante sauce (well, it SAIZ hot, anyway!)
topped with a side of sliced red onion

yum yum yum yum
yum yum yum yum
yum yum yum yum -- YUM! yum yum yum

. . . . not my usual dinner as of late, but maybe the start of something good ~~ : )

EDIT: did I mention BUTTER melted into the BEANS after they get put on top the CHIPPIES but underneath the SOUR CREAM. Very important little detail, there.

12. Vegetable lasagna with bechamel sauce.
My roommate made it, I grinned and bared it...I really hate white sauces on my vegetable lasagna. Seriously, she went through all that work to make the sauce and I'd have been happier if she'd opened a jar of Prego.

26. Since you posted this yesterday, here was yesterday's dinner
Chicken fajitas that were absolutely wonderful! I marinated the chicken breasts for about three hours in a blend of oil, lemon juice, cumin, onion, garlic, hot sauce, salt and pepper (I would have added some chipotle in adobo if I had any in the house). Some nice warm tortillas, plenty of garnishes and a side of rice, and it was good eats time.

Tonight it was a pan seared and roasted pork tenderloin (medium) with homemade mashed potatoes, carrots and squash.

Tomorrow, it's a local, very good, Chinese buffet that has surprisingly good sushi.

I'm totally going to get fat(ter) if I keep eating my mom's cooking, though...she uses my great-grandmother's recipe for mac & cheese and it's so good. :9

Stinky went to the store for deli sandwich fillings -- sliced cheeses and meats. However, I don't eat meat. So before he left, he actually asked me, "What do you want for meat, cheese?" As soon as he said it, he realized it was dumb.
