5. Here's some of my recent karma for you...

Around Christmas, I too was desperate for a job. I had applied to tons of places, but with no response. Even jobs for which I was eminently qualified eluded me. In desperation, I took a job in a factory. All through January, February, and March I've been working in an awful place, in horrible conditions, and under a management that uses intimidation, ridicule, and bullying on a daily basis.
Not long ago, I got a call out of the blue. One of the places at which I'd applied months ago was calling me back! Bottom line: I landed
a job that is better in every possible way, including money, hours, and working conditions, and not by a little, but a lot. I start on Tuesday.
So, I'm sending you some of this great vocational karma! I don't know how I ended up with it, but I'm very willing to share. Keep your chin up!

We moved here in September of 2001 for my wif's job with the state. I have not been so lucky.

At the end of '01 and the beginning of '02 I did some temp work. At the end of '02 I worked an staff for my Congressman's reelection campaign. I was finally able to get a job over the holidays (i.e., until the day after Christmas) at Fred Meyer.

I am 51 yrs old and not from here. I am always either overqualified or don't have exactly what thet are looking for. This is complicated by the fact that I suffer from chronic major depression.

I called back the store I am really interested in and have actually had an interview at.. the manager said he had not made a decision, but would make one today.. he never called back though.. maybe he was too busy.

What's the etiquette here? Should I call back tomorrow? My every instinct screams yes.
