3. "Feliz Navidad" is traditional
you are insulting a 39 year old hispanic tradition amigo.
Feliciano's version of "Feliz Navidad" (in which he plays both an acoustic guitar and a Puerto Rican cuatro) is one of the most downloaded and aired Christmas songs in the United States and Canada. It was also recognized by ASCAP as one of the top 25 most played and recorded Christmas songs around the world.

sorry you don't dig it. Agree about the McCartney drek.

This song was played for 24 hours on 97.5 fm Connecticut.

FTR, I could not name off the top of my head another song Celine Dion has ever done. Wait. Did she have something to do with "The Titanic" movie? I have never seen it but that kind of rings a bell.

Oh, and on the chance you actually care about PR, my pup is a PR rescue. We're doing our best to keep her bilingual. :]

35. The "Christmas Shoes" is the ultimate right-wing guilt assuager
I think most right-wingers have a microscopic conscience that tells them that the philosophy they have adopted is antithetical to anything that Christ taught. In the "Christmas Shoes" song, the poor little kid whose mother is dying can't come up with the last couple of bucks to buy her a pair of shoes to wear when she "meets Jesus". The "narrator" doesn't buy the shoes outright, doesn't send the boy off with a hundred bucks to give his medical-bill-devastated family a Christmas dinner... no, he "helps him out" with the rest of the money for the shoes and acts like it's the greatest fucking thing that anyone ever did for another human being.

28. Compared to some of the songs on this list, Christmas on Death Row is a masterpiece
Face it: If you HAD to buy a Christmas album under penalty of death, and your choices were:

1) a compilation CD containing, among other things, "Billy's Christmas Wish" and "Christmas Shoes"

or

2) Christmas on Death Row,

which one would you get? I don't think it would be the one that had the song about the kid dying in Santa's lap.

31. "The Cat Carol" gets my vote. It depresses the shit out of me.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clePvNtJWpw

The cat wanted in to the warm warm house,
but no one would let the cat in
It was cold outside on Christmas Eve,
She meowed and meowed by the door.

The cat was not let in the warm warm house,
And her tiny cries were ignored.
'twas a blizzard now, the worst of the year,
There was no place for her to hide.

Just then a poor little mouse crept by,
He had lost his way in the snow.
He was on his last legs and was almost froze,
The cat lifted him with her paw.

She said "Poor mouse do not be afraid,
because this is Christmas Eve.
"On this freezing night we both need a friend,
"I won’t hurt you - stay by my side."

She dug a small hole in an icy drift,
This is where they would spent the night.
She curled herself 'round her helpless friend,
Protecting him from the cold.

Oooooo

When Santa came by near the end of the night,
the reindeer started to cry.
They found the cat lying there in the snow,
and they could see that she had died.

They lifted her up from the frozen ground,
and placed her into the sleigh.
It was then they saw the little mouse wrapped up,
she had kept him warm in her fur.

"Oh thank you Santa for finding us!
"Dear cat wake up we are saved!"
..."I’m sorry mouse but your friend has died,
there’s nothing more we can do.

"On Christmas Eve she gave you her life,
the greatest gift of them all."
Santa lifted her up into the night sky,
and laid her to rest among the stars.

"Dear mouse don’t cry you are not alone,
you will see your friend every year.
"Each Christmas a Cat Constellation will shine,
to remind us that her love’s still here."

Oooooooo

She used to listen to WGN radio every morning, where this song was played frequently. For some reason, Grandma seemed to enjoy it, even though she was not much of an animal lover. She sure talked about it a lot when it first came out, although it was quite a novelty back then. I miss my grandma.

I'm surprised you put McCartney's song as the greatest ever. It's catchy with some interesting music, but it's only good, not great.

65. Just got back from my son's high school band performance
They played 'Wonderful Christmas Time' and it sounded GREAT! McCartney's rendition sucks.

71. "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth" is the second worst...
"Grandma got ran over by a reindeer" is definitely the worst of all time.

I love Feliz Navidad. It's what I sing in the shower.
