I go there from a link on wikipedia about an acapella singing group 'Straight No Chaser'.
I heard by word of mouth this group has a very nice set of Christmas songs, and someone here was wanting to hear them.
When I got to Amazon I find that the whole album is on sale - 12 songs - for only $2.99 - in mp3 format.
I am like , cool, that is a good price from what I hear about them. I have an Amazon id so what they heck, I will buy it. I dig out my id + Password, put it in my cart to download and then they tell me I need THEIR free downloader software which will only take 90 seconds to download and install.
You know what I said? SCREW IT.
If you want to sell me 12 songs for 2.99 I am all about it. Put them in a god damn .zip or .rar file and let me download it with Firefox, IE, Opera, Or Google Chrome. I am always suspicious of 'downloader software', it is so commonly used to track internet activity, etc. And there is really no need for Amazon to 'offer' this. What bullshit. So they lost a sale and money which I don't really care about Amazon, too bad the group doesn't get their royalty from my purchase.
Anyway you can check out a little animated video with their 'Christmas Can-Can' song on their website here:
http://www.sncmusic.com/'Christmas Can-Can' is a tongue-in-cheek slightly sarcastic little ditty. :-) AND it's free to watch !!
