Songs that make you feel good
Kodachrome (Paul Simon)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujhdf9_IO4w

It was 1973, I was 13 and he just said 'crap' on the radio! That plus the bouncy lyrics!

Not a hit in England though, because it was rarely played because the BBC had strict rules about commercial endorsements, and they would not allow stations to play songs that seemed to push products.

On June 22, 2009, Kodak officially retired Kodachrome color film after 74 years.

1. That is certainly a song that made me feel good too.
And so many of Paul Simon songs did. I esp loved the ones with the african singers. He was always a quirky, fringy kind of guy and I've always liked him for that.

Bittersweet, I guess.

4. Played at many weddings
Bittersweet, I guess.

Well, so is Kodachrome which is ultimately about living in denial. "Makes you think all the world's a sunny day..."

But who cares? It's got a great simple little guitar hook.

:-)
on edit: I wanted 'Stars Fell On Alabama'.
It's always held a special place for me for a number of reasons.
Bandleader said "We don't know that one."
Shit. They didn't have a fakebook?
Bastards cost me a bundle.
:-(

I prefer the Herbie Hancock version, but the US3 version ( aka "Flip Fantasia") is great as well.
Both mood changers.
