But don't forget, this man took money from JEB Bush to speak against Gore in Florida in 2000 just before the election, claiming Gore was a sellout and not a true liberal, then spent all of 04 and 08 opining that the Democrats destroyed Gore because he was too liberal. In his book "Stupid White Men" he even told the story of his Florida speech, but claimed he hadn't really realized until the next morning that JEB was the one who had paid him (even though people at FSU brought up the point before he spoke).

He spins some self-serving yarns, and doesn't care sometimes who he hurts as long as he looks good.

I think it is the sense of betrayal. He's not saying boycott Oklahoma for its batshit-crazy Senators. I guess when our enemies act like assholes, we tend not to take it personally. When our friends do it, it's a stab in the back. I'm not agreeing with Moore's suggestion, but I think I understand the motivation.
