18. Good idea. I have 2 or 3 pint yogurt containers in the freezer

each with three strange-looking, dark, sweet, overripe peeled bananas within. Last time I used a banana bread recipe that called for first browning the butter gently in a saucepan. It turned out even better than usual. :9

Just a little extra work cutting and rebaking, but I use a technique I've seen others point out, that of standing the slices on edge so you don't have to turn them halfway through the second baking :)

The most popular flavor in our house is the Orange-Almond recipe :D

15. let's see, mostly the standard kind, but with almonds, currants, chocolate

and cranberries. I think he's made them with raisins, too.


I don't think he's tried varying the batter itself for diff. flavors...

17. I use the recipes I've had for years from Cooks' Illustrated.

So, there were plenty of variations, though simple. The Orange-Almond only uses the zest of the oranges, so you still get a good flavor without adding extra liquid.

Mine are thin and teeth-cracking hard. Does your husband make them that way or the softer kind? I would think adding currants would make them softer. Some people prefer them that way, but I've always liked the hard ones. They're great with tea (or coffee) :)
