My little wish
Edited on Mon Dec-21-09 10:44 PM by AsahinaKimi
I want to visit Osaka again!

The last time I was there was when I was 6 months old to visit my grandmother in Osaka. I am not quite fluent, which is why I plan to go back to school in January. I need to learn to read Kanji, katakana and hiragana and improve my grammar and language skills. I also want to visit my cousin, Sachiko, who came to visit me in the USA when we were just about 15. She and I are the same age. I don't have sibblings and my parents live on the East coast. So to see my cousin again would almost be like having a sister!

Sachiko and Kimiko
She is a nurse at a major Osaka hospital now and has her own place. We still keep in touch though her English is not that good. She wants me to very much come visit her! I hope I can get my passport renewed and go visit her in 2011. By then my language skills should be improved. I wish I could see all of Asia..but right now, I hope to go to Osaka in a few years to visit. I so want to go!

Watashi wa Oosaka ni ikitai desuyo! Honto honto desu!

Ganbariyo!

The rest is history, though I did spend a bit of time back east, too. I have three brothers, and no sisters, so she's my sister!
Where on the East coast do your parents live?

9. I lived in Osaka for a couple of years
The whole Kansai area is wonderful. I hope you get to go!
Kyoto and Nara are amazingly beautiful.

Have you heard of the JET Program? That's how I was able to go and work there. That's the best way to learn any language, go and immerse yourself! Are you college age? Is there an exchange program where you are studying? I also went for a year to Waseda University in Tokyo through my university.

Best of luck! :hi:

10. I have heard about the program
I really don't want to live there, as much as I just want to visit. If I can improve my skills enough before I go that will be fantastic. I hope after doing well to go back to school and start learning Korean. It would really be great to speak to my other grandmother in her own language.

12. Yes but
I usually watch them from a private website, whose name I will not reveal, as they have some great stuff from Asia, and don't wish their free streaming programs to be taken down. They have a vast Asian library of programs, from movies to drama. They even feature some films from the Philippines and have some Taiwan dramas.

I know its a great way to help my language skills..because I do try to listen to what is said and check the subtitles for verification. (I know not all the subtitles are accurate, but they are pretty close, and I check on things I am not sure about.)

13. I hope you get to go soon
my family lived at Misawa AB for a few years, and we learned to love Japan. The snow monkeys, the wild ponies, the festivals, all of it, and we have Japanese friends there too, so we want to visit again. And one of my cats is named Kimi, since we lived there. I always wanted to see Osaka, I imagine it's beautiful.
