But I do enjoy the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols. Wish I was in Cambridge now.

1. there are so many wonderful things about the winter festivals- the music,

the pine, the foods, the celebrations of light to endure the coming winter. It's really a lot more than a Christian holiday, when you think about it. (and I was raised as a Catholic.)

Since I love old carols, medieval music, Anon 4, Piffaro, Rutter, etc. and all the Brit music, I think that would e so cool to be there as well!

:hi: Looking up the Festival of 9 Lessons and Carols now! thanks for the heads up!

2. I was raised ELCA Lutheran...
I went to an Anglican service at Southwark Cathedral when I was in London two years ago. I was surprised at how very similar the service was to the ones I grew up sitting through, only there was no coffee and bars afterward, and there was a lot more pretty decorations in the church.

3. when are the Cambridge carols?
are they on PRI today? Or is there a podcast?

I love the high-church feel of Anglican services.

4. The live broadcast just ended (organ postlude as I type), but Minnesota Public Radio
is going to repeat it on Christmas Day.

Check your local public radio station's website.

Glad I know about this so I can look for it and remember to listen next year. MY sister was planning to head out to an Episcopal X-mas service tonight.

Happy Hoidays, Lydia!
