His father was shot dead while accompanying him for a job interview aboard
the Lucknow-bound Amritsar Mail. Ironically a day later, Chandan Gupta,
son of late Shivparasad Gupta looks all set to get a coveted Railways job
as compensation for his father’s death.

Union Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh
for the family of the deceased and a job for a member of his family.

Shivparasad and Chandan were travelling from Howrah to Lucknow on Amritsar Mail
when around 12 dacoits boarded the train at Shimultolla near Jhanjha station
and started looting passengers.
