I went fishing today and caught a catfish so big that..............

It wouldn't fit in the boat so I had to let it go.

That is OK because I caught lots of pan size catfish.

This is a true story.


I love fried catfish.

1. That reminds me of some of the Blewitt Falls catfish.

Those are some of the biggest fish I have ever seen in freshwater. :wow:

3. I almost landed a catfish that looked like it was about 20 lbs or so.

I didn't have the hook set really tight.

Now I could take you fishing in Houston to a certain bayou that has really large catfish.

I looked online for one about the size of the one I saw 3 summers ago. The one in that picture is actually a bit smaller than the one I saw.

I have seen a lot bigger.

I don't think they would taste very good.

Catfish can get really large.

The largest catfish I have seen caught is about 100 lbs.

The only thing in the bayou big enough to eat the big catfishes are the gators.

I am talking about in the shadows of downtown Houston.

My neighbor said people survived the 30's catching catfish from the bayous.

Those suckers can reach 120 lbs.

one of the insults tossed back and forth is about fish "caught" and "released". Your post made me think of that.

I use liver for bait, catfish will come for miles.
