Question for Starbuck's Baristas

I have a question to anyone who works at Starbucks.OK, I just got my new Starbuck's Rewards card in the mail. I registered it online where I give my name, address, date of birth, and some other info.I do this because if my card is lost, they will send me a new one for no charge and I still keep my points.Well, I got this brand new shiny gold card that goes in effect on January 6th. My question is, when I present my card and the Barista swipes it, what information come on the screen for them to see?Do they see everything like my DOB? Street address?etc.I am just curious and a little concerned with what information of mine is out there and I like to be in control of who see's what. Many thanks!

3. It keeps track of the number of drinks you buy so you get a free one

if you get a gold card - every 16th drink is free. I doubt if you are important enough for more information to be desired when you order coffee unless you are so good looking and irresistable the barista will want your phone number.

That I know. I am just curious because the old card I had (the black one)I don't think had any personal info. I registered it online. When I got my new card they said they already pre-registered it. I'm only concerned with what the barista see's and what information comes up.

10. For registrations that require that here's what I do if I think

they don't need the correct info:

I add one day, one month, and one year to the date of my birth,
then if it is used nefariously they don't really have the correct one.
And, if someone approaches me with that date as though they know it then 'I'
know they retrieved it from one of those databases.

The only time this has happened so far is that a former work acquaintance sent me a
'Happy Birthday' a month and a day after my real birth date. I am pretty sure he got it from YAHOO
some way or another.

Of course it also means all my birthday deals at restaurants, bookstores, etc come one month after my real birth date.
The local newspaper online will also throw up a box at times when I want to read an article, and won't let me go to the article until I supply sex, birthdate, and zip code. To them I am a 94 year old female who lives on the opposite side of the city from where I really do.

I always assumed a lot of people did this sort of thing and that there are a lot of corrupt marketing databases out there.

even when I'm paying in cash. I just tell them no. For nosy websites I do the same as you, just make up some date.

it's just for keeping tabs on how many purchases I make that's fine. For every 15, I get a free drink.However, since the website asked for basic info (full name, address, and DOB)all that's for is if my card is lost,they will replace it for free. Since that's the only info,I don't mind it as long as its used for that purpose only.One concern is one of the barista's is nice and all but I feel he may have a crush on me(very friendly,asked me once if I was single, and has in the past given me free coffee's if the brew I ask for is not already made)Like I aid, it's not a big concern but I often wonder what info comes up on those screens that I can not read.

It just adjusts the price if necessary and makes note of your purchase in the database (which is centrally located for the region) in order to credit you with the proper rewards based on number and type of past purchases.
