Anyone here ever attend a Wedding/Bridal Expo?
I'm trying to decide whether or not it's worth my time to go to one this Sunday.

Right now, I'm not sure I even have a ball-park budget to work with, and we haven't set a date.

Maybe a better idea to wait until I know those things?

Or is it worth it to get a sense of what kind services I'll want/need and how much those thing will cost?

1. Oh, might be a fun way to spend an afternoon
now that the weather is so cold.

If anything, you might find people that you might overlook just sifting through the yellow pages. Here we have the "Southern Ideal Home Show" and I go and collect business cards from people I might use in the future.

I would look at a bridal show along the same lines.

Congrats. :-)

2. I went to a DJ/wedding photography expo with my stepdaughter
For me it was a waste of time since I managed to get married without any fuss at the county court house. She and her mother adored it and wound up booking her photographer and DJ there. I didn't think much of the expo because it was put on by one company to showcase just their people. She was married a few weeks ago, but my husband and I didn't stay past the ceremony for a variety of reasons, so I don't know how the DJ was. It's a long story.

It might be fun and will give you some ideas about what you want to do, but just remember that they will push all sorts of goods and services that "you just can't have a lovely wedding without". I'd say go and see what they have to say and show and get some ideas.

3. You should go, but keep your wits about you....it's easy to get swept up in it all
They don't call it the "bridal industrial complex" for nothing.

And, belated congratulations.
