The news never fails to amaze—or amuse
My wife and I spent Christmas at my mother-in-law’s home in rural Mississippi—which is just about as far as you can get from the real world on a weekday. When we arrived home to cable news and the Internet, we were introduced to a story about a troubled Nigerian youth who had set his—er,. . .self—on fire in an attempt to blow up an airliner on the way to Detroit.

Seems he had been in contact with an Al Qaeda cell in Yemen set up by some former guests of this country—in fond remembrance of their all expense paid stay at our four star Caribbean facilities at Gitmo. This has led to much finger pointing between the media and the White House, Republicans and Democrats, the FBI and the TSA, the U.S. and Yemen, as well as Dick Cheney and pretty much anybody to the left of Mephistopheles.
We think it’s about time for another trip to my mother-in-law’s house.
