It was -11 when I got home a couple hours ago. Wanting desperately to warm up quickly, I headed for the shower. On the way I stopped and switched on the TV, figuring that the news would be on when I emerged from the shower. As I was about to step into the tub an odd noise caught my attention; I wrapped up in a towel and trotted into the living room where I discovered, to my horror, that I'd accidentally tuned the TV to Fox, and Glenn Beck was holding forth. Chilled though I was I managed to dispense half a can of Lysol before retreating into the shower. When the weather clears I'm going to have a friend do a sage exorcism. But I still think another shower is in order, just on principle. Yuck.

Ironically, I was supposed to get a newer TV today, but I called and told them to wait until the weather clears. This old one doesn't have the ability to block channels, and after a few minutes people on the screen turn a grayish-green; it actually looked appropriate on Beck (known here as 'skidmark').

Heck, even porn would be more refreshing.
