I loved the big-band thing in the 60s. Did you ever listen to the transitional BST album (1967), "Child Is Father To the Man"? Before David Clayton-Thomas. I think I may start another brass type band myself.

5. I forgot about that album. The cover was freaky.

9. I always hated horn bands

and I was in one during Freshman year of college (on lead guitar). It bored me to tears. Sorry, but I really hated Chicago too.

10. One of SCTV's all-time greatest bits...

...was "Garth & Gord & Fiona & Alice." In it, Paul Flaherty (Joe "Count Floyd" Flaherty's brother) does a spot-on David Clayton Thomas impression on a version of the song 'To It and At It' that's used throughout the sketch.

Unfortunately, SCTV had it yanked from YouTube for copyright reasons. But other than my memories of BS&T in their glory days, that SCTV bit immediately comes to mind whenever I hear one of their songs.
